Wareng KNUT Leader to Host Thanksgiving Service Following NEC Election

Teachers in Wareng Branch have been invited to a thanksgiving service in Eldoret to celebrate the recent election of Simon Kiprop Tuwei to the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Kenya National Union of Teachers, where he now represents the Rift Valley region.

According to the official invitation, the event will be held on May 1, 2026, at Green Wood Hotel in Eldoret City and will bring together teachers from across the branch and beyond. Tuwei, who serves as the Wareng Branch Executive Secretary, is expected to host the event as a moment of gratitude following his elevation to the union’s top decision-making body.

Organizers say the thanksgiving service will provide an opportunity for educators to reflect on the milestone and give thanks for what they describe as “God’s faithfulness, provision, and continued blessings” in their lives and work.

The gathering is open to all teachers in Wareng Branch, with a strong emphasis on unity, fellowship, and appreciation within the profession. KNUT officials noted that Tuwei’s election to the NEC is a significant achievement for the region, giving Rift Valley teachers a stronger voice at the national level.

The event is also expected to reinforce the union’s core values of service, justice, and unity, while strengthening ties among members in a relaxed and reflective setting.

Teachers attending the Eldoret service will not only celebrate the leadership milestone but also use the occasion to renew their collective commitment to advancing the welfare of educators across the region.
