Uasin Gishu Advances Development Agenda as Kapseret Projects Near Completion
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming livelihoods through the county’s Nguzo Kumi development plan, highlighting major progress in Kapseret Sub-County.
Speaking during an engagement with residents of Kapseret Township, the governor noted that several flagship projects are taking shape, with visible impact expected in the near future. Among them is the Kapseret ESP Market, whose construction began a year ago and is now nearing completion. The modern facility is set to provide small-scale traders with a more dignified and organized business environment.
Governor Bii also pointed to the ongoing development of the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Cherunya, which is expected to strengthen agricultural value chains, widen market access for local produce, and generate employment opportunities for residents.
In addition, plans are underway to establish a milk processing plant in Kapseret, a project the county leadership says will unlock the full potential of the dairy sector by adding value and improving returns for farmers.
During the meeting, the governor urged residents to actively participate in the democratic process by registering as voters, emphasizing the importance of civic engagement in shaping the county’s future.
The developments form part of a broader strategy by the county government to spur economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance service delivery across Uasin Gishu.
