Speaker Pays Courtesy Visit to County Commissioner, Pledges Stronger Collaboration
The Speaker of the County Assembly, Hon. Lawi Kibire, today paid a courtesy visit to the County Commissioner of Elgeyo/Marakwet, Mr. David Kosgei, at his office, in a move aimed at strengthening intergovernmental collaboration.
During the meeting, Hon. Kibire reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the County Commissioner’s office to enhance efficient and effective service delivery to residents. He emphasized the importance of unity and coordination between county and national government structures in addressing key challenges facing the region.
The two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions on a range of critical issues affecting the county. Among the key areas deliberated were the rising cases of drug and substance abuse, the need to operationalize administrative units, and the importance of accelerating the issuance of national identification cards to eligible citizens.
They also explored practical strategies to improve overall service delivery, with a shared focus on ensuring that government services reach wananchi in a timely and efficient manner.
Mr. Kosgei welcomed the Speaker’s visit, noting that enhanced cooperation between the two offices would play a vital role in addressing developmental and administrative challenges within the county.
