Over 15,000 Youth Gather in Nairobi for Annual YSC Mass Celebration
More than 15,000 members of Youth Serving Christ (YSC) converged at St. Mary’s Msongari Grounds for the annual YSC Mass, held in celebration of the Feast of the Good Shepherd and Our Lady of Good Counsel.
The Holy Mass was presided over by Philip Anyolo and concelebrated by George Muthaka, alongside several priests, drawing a large and vibrant congregation of young faithful.
In his homily, Youth Chaplain Victor Mbuthia called on the youth to seek purpose in Christ, emphasizing the importance of personal choice in faith.
“Jesus opens the door wide, but leaves each person with the power to choose whether to enter,” he said, urging attendees to consciously embrace their spiritual journey.
Addressing the gathering at the close of the celebration, Archbishop Anyolo encouraged the youth to remain steadfast in their faith, reminding them that Christ walks with them through life’s challenges.
“He is always with you, even in moments when you may feel He is far,” he said, calling on young people to be committed to prayer and grounded in Christian teachings.
The event also featured a variety of activities, including the Mr. and Mrs. YSC contest and a lively Colour Fest. The celebrations culminated in the crowning of the new Mr. and Mrs. YSC, bringing the day to a vibrant and joyful close.
