Karen Blixen Museum to Close on Select Dates in April and May 2026

The National Museums of Kenya has announced temporary closures of the Karen Blixen Museum on two specific dates in 2026.

In a public notice issued to visitors and the general public, the institution confirmed that the museum will be closed on Saturday, April 11, 2026, and again on Friday, May 1, 2026. No specific reason for the closures was disclosed in the announcement.

Despite the temporary shutdowns, the National Museums of Kenya reassured the public that the Karen Blixen Museum will remain open and fully operational on all other days. Visitors planning trips outside the affected dates can expect normal services.

The management also issued an apology for any inconvenience caused and thanked visitors for their understanding. Members of the public seeking further clarification were encouraged to reach out through the organization’s official communication channels.

The Karen Blixen Museum, located in Nairobi, is a popular cultural and historical attraction, drawing both local and international visitors interested in Kenya’s colonial history and literary heritage.
