Governor Jonathan Bii Lauds Steady Progress at Kesses Level Four Hospital, Promises Healthcare Transformation

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare services, citing significant progress in the construction of the Kesses Level Four Hospital as a major milestone in the county’s development agenda.

Speaking during an inspection tour of the ongoing project in Kesses, Governor Bii expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction, noting that the county government is working around the clock to ensure the facility is completed within the stipulated timelines.

“We are making steady and encouraging progress. This hospital is a game-changer for our community, and we are committed to ensuring it is delivered on time and to the highest standards,” he said.

The governor emphasized that the Kesses Level Four Hospital will play a critical role in transforming healthcare access for thousands of residents, many of whom currently travel long distances to seek specialized medical services. Once operational, the facility is expected to ease pressure on existing hospitals within the county, particularly in Eldoret and surrounding areas.

According to Bii, the hospital will be equipped with modern medical infrastructure and staffed with qualified healthcare professionals to provide a wide range of services, including outpatient and inpatient care, maternal and child health services, diagnostic services, and emergency care.

He highlighted the urgent need to strengthen emergency response systems in the region, noting that the new hospital will significantly reduce response times and improve outcomes in critical cases such as accidents, childbirth complications, and other medical emergencies.

“Our goal is to ensure that no resident loses their life due to delays in accessing medical care. This facility will bring services closer to the people and enhance our capacity to respond to emergencies effectively,” the governor added.

Governor Bii also underscored the hospital’s expected impact on maternal and child health, pointing out that improved access to skilled birth attendants and modern equipment will help reduce maternal and infant mortality rates in the county.

Beyond healthcare delivery, the project is also contributing to the local economy by creating employment opportunities for residents during both the construction and operational phases. The governor noted that local contractors, suppliers, and workers have been actively involved, ensuring that the project benefits the community economically as well.

He reiterated that investment in healthcare infrastructure remains a top priority for his administration, alongside other key sectors such as agriculture, education, and urban development.

Residents of Kesses and neighboring areas have welcomed the development, expressing optimism that the facility will not only improve access to affordable and quality healthcare but also enhance their overall quality of life.
