Uasin Gishu County Woman Representative Gladys Boss Sholei has led the nation in celebrating a historic moment in athletics following Sebastian Sawe’s remarkable achievement at the London Marathon, where he became the first athlete to officially run a marathon in under two hours, clocking 1:59:30.

In her congratulatory message, Sholei hailed Sawe’s feat as a proud moment for Kenya and a powerful demonstration of human potential.

“This is not just a victory for Sebastian Sawe, but for our entire nation. You have proven that no human is limited and inspired millions across the world,” she said.

Sholei noted that Sawe’s achievement places Kenya even more firmly at the pinnacle of global long-distance running, while also serving as motivation for young athletes, especially from Uasin Gishu County, to pursue excellence with determination and discipline.
