Gachagua Raises Alarm Over Public Resource Mismanagement in Kamwangi
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has raised concerns over what he described as widespread mismanagement of public resources, warning that Kenyans are increasingly aware and unwilling to tolerate poor governance.
Addressing residents in Kamwangi, Gachagua said the country is facing a critical moment, with public assets allegedly being depleted at an unsustainable rate. He emphasized that citizens are now more informed and actively engaged in holding leaders accountable.
“People are no longer in the dark. They understand what is happening and expect transparency and responsibility from those in leadership,” he said.
Residents echoed his sentiments, pointing to economic challenges and declining public services as signs of governance failures. They called for stronger accountability measures and equitable use of national resources.
Gachagua urged leaders to prioritize the interests of citizens, warning that continued mismanagement could erode public trust in institutions. He, however, expressed optimism in the growing civic awareness among Kenyans.
He concluded by thanking Kamwangi residents for their engagement, expressing hope for a more accountable and transparent future.
