UDA Hands Nomination Certificates to Candidates Ahead of February 26 By-Elections

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has officially handed over nomination certificates to its flag bearers set to contest in the February 26 by-elections for Isiolo South Constituency and Evurore, Muminji and West Kabras wards.

The certificates were issued at Hustler Plaza by UDA Party Chairperson and Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire to Isiolo South parliamentary nominee Tubi Mohammed Tubi and the party’s candidates for Member of County Assembly. The MCA nominees are Elphas Kainanga Shalakha (West Kabras Ward, Malava Constituency), Peterson Njeru Njiri (Muminji Ward, Mbeere North Constituency) and Dancun Muratia Nyaga (Evurore Ward, Mbeere North Constituency).

Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Mbarire urged the candidates to conduct themselves with humility and discipline during the campaign period, emphasizing that respectful and issue-based campaigns would be key to securing victory for the party in the mini-polls.

“I urge you to remain humble as you engage voters on the ground. Let your campaigns reflect the values of our party and the needs of the people you seek to represent,” Mbarire said.

UDA Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar assured the candidates of the party’s full support, noting that the leadership is committed to mobilizing resources and structures to ensure success at the polls. He called on party supporters to rally behind the nominees and work together to deliver victory.

Also present at the event were UDA National Elections Board Chairman Engineer Anthony Mwaura, Executive Director Nicodemus Bore, Deputy Executive Director Higgins Mbugua, Mbeere North MP Leo Wamuthende, and members of the National Elections Board.

The February 26 by-elections are expected to test UDA’s grassroots strength in the affected regions, with party officials expressing confidence that the nominated candidates will clinch the seats and strengthen the party’s presence at both national and county levels.
