PS Treasury Dr. Chris Kiptoo Joins Leaders in Mokwo Hope Run to Empower Girls and Uplift Community
Education is a cornerstone for empowered communities, unlocking opportunities, restoring dignity, and ensuring every child has a fair chance to succeed. On Friday morning, in Kaptarakwa Ward, Keiyo South, PS Treasury Dr. Chris Kiptoo, together with the Head of Public Service, Mr. Felix Koskei, took part in the 3rd edition of the Mokwo Hope Run, a community initiative aimed at promoting hope, healthy living, and a greener future.
The event, held at St. Agatha Mokwo Girls Secondary School, brought together a host of leaders and stakeholders, including Principal Secretaries Ann Wangombe (Gender), Julius Korir (Water), and Gitonga Mugambi (Forestry), Governor Wisley Rotich, and the Area Member of Parliament, Hon. Gideon Kimaiyo, among others.
Addressing participants, Dr. Kiptoo highlighted the importance of investing in education and supporting initiatives that empower young girls and strengthen community development. He emphasized that activities such as the Mokwo Hope Run not only promote physical fitness but also foster unity, environmental consciousness, and a spirit of volunteerism.
“With this walk, we reaffirm our commitment to restoring St. Agatha Mokwo Girls Secondary School to its former glory, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for the students,” Dr. Kiptoo said.
The Mokwo Hope Run included a cross-country race, with winners set to be awarded later in the day. Dr. Kiptoo also engaged with members of the public, reinforcing government’s support for community-led initiatives that prioritize education, health, and environmental sustainability.
The event was hailed as a success, bringing together leaders, students, and the community in a shared mission to empower girls and uplift the entire Keiyo South community.
