Patients to Benefit as Uasin Gishu Upgrades Radiology Services with Digital Technology
The County Government of Uasin Gishu has taken another significant step in strengthening diagnostic healthcare services following the inspection of newly installed radiology equipment by the Chief Officer for Clinical Services, Mr Ambrose Tarus.
During a visit to Uasin Gishu County Hospital, the Chief Officer inspected a fully installed digital X-ray machine, describing it as a transformative addition that will greatly enhance timely and accurate diagnosis. He commended the technical teams for ensuring the equipment meets all required standards and is fully operational to serve patients efficiently.
“The digitization of healthcare services is no longer a vision; it is now a reality,” Mr Tarus said, noting that all county health facilities have successfully rolled out digital systems under the Taifa Care framework. He emphasized that the initiative has significantly improved service delivery, patient experience, and health data management across the county.
The Chief Officer also visited Huruma Sub-County Hospital, where he toured the radiology department to assess readiness ahead of the full rollout of services. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made and reiterated the county’s commitment to ensuring residents have access to quality radiology services closer to home.
Mr Tarus praised healthcare workers for their dedication and professionalism, assuring them of continued institutional support.
“I commend you for the excellent work you are doing. We are providing the necessary support because the Governor is fully committed to quality healthcare delivery and staff welfare,” he said.
The inspections reaffirm the County Government of Uasin Gishu’s commitment, under the leadership of Governor Dr Jonathan Bii, to invest in modern medical equipment, empower healthcare workers, and deliver accessible, high-quality healthcare services to all residents.
