A married man from Nakuru has spoken openly about how seeking spiritual guidance helped stabilise his marriage after months of tension and misunderstanding. The man said constant arguments and emotional distance had pushed the relationship to the brink, leaving both partners frustrated and exhausted.

According to him, communication had broken down completely, with small disagreements turning into major confrontations. “We were living in the same house but felt like strangers,” he said. “Every conversation ended in anger.”

Friends close to the family said the couple had tried counselling informally through relatives, but nothing seemed to work. That was when the man decided to look for alternative guidance focused on restoring harmony and understanding.

Marriage regains balance

The man said changes began gradually after he sought spiritual direction. He described becoming calmer, more patient, and more intentional in how he approached his wife. “I started listening more and reacting less,” he said. “The house slowly became peaceful again.”

His wife later acknowledged the shift, saying the atmosphere at home had changed noticeably. “He became softer and more respectful. We started talking again without shouting,” she said.

Neighbours also observed the difference, noting that the couple now appeared more united and relaxed. One neighbour said, “You can tell when a home is peaceful. The tension was gone.”

Guidance explained

Speaking on the matter, DR Kashiririka said many marital problems stem from emotional imbalance and unresolved resentment. “When couples come for guidance, the focus is on restoring respect and emotional order,” he said. “Peace in marriage begins when the mind is settled.”
