Former KTDA Chairman Condemns Undignified Food Distribution in Gatundu

Former KTDA National Chairman Ichoho David Muni has strongly condemned what he termed the undignified and unsafe distribution of prison food to residents of Gatundu, warning that the practice puts the elderly, the sick, and other vulnerable members of society at risk.

Muni said the approach shows blatant disregard for public safety and human dignity, noting that short-term food handouts cannot address the deeper challenges facing the community.

“A sinking ship will not be salvaged by food handouts. The people of Gatundu deserve dignity, not pity politics,” he said, dismissing what he described as “siasa ya sina-pole.”

He expressed solidarity with Gatundu residents, assuring them of a renewed focus on rebuilding the region and enhancing sustainable food production to ensure long-term food security for all.

“Poleni sana wenyeji wa Gatundu. We know the way, and we shall implement it. Together, we will rebuild Gatundu,” Muni said, urging residents to remain safe.
