Farouk Kibet Leads Leaders in Supporting Sinoko Ward Welfare Groups in Likuyani
The event brought together leaders and members of the community in a collective effort to mobilize resources aimed at strengthening welfare groups and promoting grassroots economic empowerment.
Speaking during the fundraiser, Mr. Kibet said the initiative strongly reflects H.E. President Dr. William Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which prioritizes empowering households, community groups, and small enterprises as the foundation of sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
“Welfare groups play a critical role in uplifting families and strengthening local economies. Supporting them is central to the Bottom-Up model, which ensures development starts with the people,” said Kibet.
Likuyani MP Hon. Innocent Mugabe emphasized the importance of unity and collective responsibility in addressing economic challenges at the community level, noting that empowered welfare groups enhance resilience, improve livelihoods, and support vulnerable members of society.
The fundraiser was attended by several leaders, including Hon. Emmanuel Wangwe (MP, Navakholo), Hon. Japheth Nyakundi (MP, Kitutu Chache North), Hon. Fred Ikana (MP, Shinyalu), Hon. John Bwire (MP, Taveta), Hon. Mwengi Mutuse (MP, Kibwezi West), Hon. David Ndakwa (MP, Malava), and the host MCA Hon. Antony Mix, alongside other Members of County Assembly.
Leaders present urged residents to embrace a savings culture, invest in income-generating activities, and take advantage of government empowerment programs to scale up their initiatives.
The event reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development and highlighted the growing impact of community-driven welfare groups in delivering meaningful socio-economic transformation at the grassroots.
