County Leadership Assesses Night-Duty Service Delivery at Kesses Sub-County Hospital

The County Executive for Health Services, Janet Kurgat, accompanied by County Chief of Staff Pius Chumba, on Tuesday night conducted an impromptu visit to Kesses Sub-County Hospital to assess the quality of night-duty services and the efficiency of healthcare staff on duty.

The inspection aimed to provide a firsthand assessment of after-hours service delivery—a critical period when emergency and urgent care services are most in demand. During the visit, the county leadership toured key hospital departments, engaged with healthcare workers, and reviewed patient flow as well as response times.

Addressing staff on duty, Kurgat commended their dedication and resilience, emphasizing that the provision of quality healthcare is a 24-hour responsibility. She encouraged night-duty teams to consistently deliver their best while discharging their duties, underscoring the importance of professionalism, compassion, and teamwork in improving patient outcomes.

Chief of Staff Pius Chumba echoed her sentiments, applauding the commitment demonstrated by the staff and reaffirming the county government’s support in ensuring a conducive working environment for healthcare workers.

The visit reaffirmed the county government’s commitment to accountability, continuous improvement, and the delivery of quality healthcare services across all public health facilities, both day and night.
