"Sianguki Ng'o": Kigame Responds to Critics Who Say Politics Will Derail His Gospel Calling
A powerful message of hope and righteousness echoed through Friends Church (Quakers) in Lang’ata, Nairobi, as presidential aspirant, Mwalimu Dr. Reuben Kigame attended the Ebenezer Conference 2025. The event, which brought together church leaders and young people, was a resounding success, with Dr. Kigame reaffirming his commitment to serve the nation without compromising his faith.
Upon his arrival, Dr. Kigame was warmly received by the church leadership, who commended his tireless service to the country and unwavering stand for godly leadership. They emphasized that Kenya is in dire need of leaders who fear God and uphold righteousness—and that Dr. Kigame exemplifies these qualities.
In a passionate sermon, Senior Pastor Harris Alichura underscored the urgency for righteous leadership in Kenya, referencing the nation's moral and political state. *“Wakati umefika wa mwenye haki kuongoza nchi yetu. Mimi kura yangu ni ya ndugu Reuben,”* he declared, urging congregants to rally behind Kigame's vision for the country.
Drawing from *Psalm 100:1–5*, Pastor Alichura called on believers to give thanks to God rather than focus on complaining about national issues.
He emphasized that true change must begin with reverence for God and personal righteousness. When he addressed the congregation, Dr. Kigame spoke directly to the youth, urging them to fill their hearts, thoughts, and speech with God’s Word. *“Hakuna kitu kitabadilisha nchi yetu isipokuwa mioyo ya binadamu,”* he said. *“Nyimbo ziingie State House. Serikali ijae watu wanaogopa na kumuenzi Mungu.”*
In a spirited moment during the conference, Dr. Kigame joined in praise and worship, sharing his testimony and addressing critics who claim his entry into politics will make him abandon gospel music. *“Walisema nitasahau kuimba kwa sababu niko kwa siasa. Nawaambia: sianguki ng’o!”* he declared.
Referencing his song *“Lipo Tumaini”*, Dr. Kigame encouraged young people to remain hopeful, no matter the challenges they face. His message was one of perseverance, faith, and the transformative power of godly leadership.
The church leadership thanked Dr. Kigame for his inspiring message and expressed eagerness for continued collaboration in shaping a nation led by God-fearing, servant-hearted leaders.
