Narok Peace Ambassador Calls for Firm Action Against Ethnic Violence in Transmara

Narok County peace ambassador Joshua Ole Kaputa has urged the government to take decisive action against individuals fueling ethnic violence in the Transmara area, calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of all those involved, including rogue politicians accused of inciting communities.

Speaking in Narok town, Kaputa condemned the continued loss of lives, describing it as unacceptable and avoidable. He called on security agencies to intensify patrols in the affected areas to restore calm and prevent further escalation of violence.

“The loss of even one life is too much. Peace is a collective responsibility, and those inciting or financing violence must be held accountable, regardless of their status,” he said.

Kaputa emphasized that lasting peace can only be achieved through firm law enforcement coupled with community cooperation. He urged residents to work closely with security agencies by sharing information that could help curb the violence.

The peace ambassador made the remarks while distributing Christmas goodies to elderly residents in Narok Central Sub-County, an event he said was meant to promote the spirit of sharing, compassion, and unity during the festive season.

He encouraged residents to reject ethnic divisions and embrace peaceful coexistence, noting that harmony among communities is essential for development and social stability in Narok County.

Kaputa concluded by wishing residents a peaceful Christmas and New Year, calling on leaders and citizens alike to prioritize dialogue, unity, and mutual respect.
