KISE Nominated for GEDI Awards 2025 in Recognition of Leadership in Inclusive Education
The Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) has been nominated for the GEDI Awards 2025 under the Best EARC Inclusive Education Champions category, a major recognition of the Institute’s outstanding contribution to advancing inclusive education across the region.
Speaking following the announcement, KISE Director General, Mr. Norman Kiogora Stephen, said the nomination affirms the Institute’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that no learner is left behind, particularly persons with disabilities.
“This recognition is a powerful affirmation of our collective commitment to inclusive education. Every day, our team works tirelessly to break barriers, strengthen systems, and implement transformative initiatives that expand equitable access to education,” said Mr. Kiogora.
He emphasized that the nomination belongs to the dedicated staff of KISE, as well as its partners, parents, and champions of inclusion, whose continued support and collaboration have been instrumental in driving impact.
Under Mr. Kiogora’s leadership, KISE has intensified efforts to promote inclusive education through capacity building, research, policy support, and regional collaboration, positioning the Institute as a leading voice in disability inclusion and special needs education.
As the Institute looks ahead to the GEDI Awards 2025 ceremony, Mr. Kiogora reaffirmed KISE’s commitment to sustainable, inclusive development, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Leave No One Behind agenda.
