Family Appeals for Support to Help Young Man Recover After Hit-and-Run Accident
The family of Mr. and Mrs. Luka Limo of Kapsegin (Kapjakir) has launched a fundraising appeal to support their son, Mathew Kiplimo, who is recovering from a life-threatening road accident.
According to the family, Mathew was tragically involved in a hit-and-run accident on the evening of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, along the Kaptuli–Naiberi Road. He sustained a severe traumatic brain injury and was rushed to Tophill Hospital, where he underwent emergency brain surgery.
The family has expressed deep gratitude to God and the medical team, noting that the surgery was successful and Mathew’s condition has steadily improved. However, doctors have advised that he now requires a second operation to restore part of his skull that was temporarily removed during the initial surgery. In addition, the family is faced with pending hospital bills.
The total amount required to cover the second surgery and medical expenses stands at KSh 1.2 million.
To help raise the needed funds, the family is organizing a fundraising event on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Friends, relatives, well-wishers, religious leaders, professionals, and members of the community have been cordially invited to attend and support the cause.
“We humbly ask for prayers, presence, and any financial support to help our son fully recover and return to normal life,” the family said in a statement.
Those wishing to support Mathew’s recovery can send contributions via M-Pesa to 0727 269 670 (Samson Kiprop).
The family remains hopeful that with continued medical care and the generosity of well-wishers, Mathew will make a full recovery.
