Bomas International Convention Complex Poised to Position Kenya as Africa’s Premier MICE Destination

The Hon. Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Rebecca Miano EGH, has described the Bomas International Convention Complex (BICC) as a key strategic milestone in positioning Kenya as a leading Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination in Africa, while enhancing the country’s visibility in the competitive international events market.

Speaking on the progress of the project, CS Miano noted that the initiative aligns with His Excellency the President’s vision for modern, world-class infrastructure. The construction of the BICC is progressing steadily, with up to 3,000 workers employed daily to ensure completion by April 2026. The facility is designed to meet modern global conference standards, reinforcing Kenya’s reputation as Africa’s leading conference hub.

Even before its completion, the ultra-modern complex has already been booked to host the France Africa Summit on 12 May 2026, underscoring Kenya’s growing attractiveness as a destination for major international events.

“The Bomas International Convention Complex will be not only the largest in the region but also a world-class facility that reflects Kenya’s ambition and commitment to excellence,” said CS Miano.

The BICC is expected to drive tourism, trade, and investment, positioning Kenya as a first-world destination capable of hosting large-scale international events.
