Malava Parliamentary Aspirant Seth Panyako Alleges Plot to Disrupt Upcoming Meeting

By Wasike Elvis

Malava parliamentary aspirant Seth Panyako has issued a strongly worded statement alleging a planned scheme to disrupt a political meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

According to Panyako, several senior county officials and advisors allegedly met with Governor Barasa on Thursday afternoon, where they were purportedly issued funds to mobilize students and hire individuals to cause disorder during the event.

In his statement, Panyako claimed that Leah Khasandi, Saidi Kasavuli—both advisors to Governor Barasa—and Chief Officer Lawrence Mukoyani were allegedly given KSh 1.5 million to mobilize MMUST students to dominate the front rows of the meeting and to engage in heckling.

He further alleged that the group had been handed 30 youths from Kondele, Kisumu, purportedly to facilitate violence targeted at political principals expected to attend the event.

“Mtajua hamjui…” Panyako warned, suggesting that those behind the alleged plot would soon be exposed.

Panyako did not provide documentary evidence to support the allegations, and efforts to reach the mentioned county officials for comment were unsuccessful at the time of publication.

County authorities have not yet issued an official response, and it remains unclear whether law enforcement agencies have launched any investigation into the claims.

Political observers note that the accusations come amid heightened political activity in the region as leaders position themselves ahead of upcoming campaigns.
