Hunger Crisis and Deadly Drone Attack Reported in War-Torn Sudan
By Linda Kisia
The International hunger monitoring group IPC has warned that two areas in Sudan are facing severe hunger, which could spread to other parts of the country.
According to IPC, famine has been reported in El-Fasher in western Darfur, and in Kadugli, located in South Kordofan region.
At the same time, doctors in Sudan say seven people have been killed in a drone attack on a children’s hospital. Among the dead are women and children.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has also warned that the ongoing violence in El-Fasher could amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The warning comes after international organizations reported that thousands of people have fled El-Fasher, which has been taken over by RSF militants.
Sudan continues to face a worsening humanitarian crisis as fighting and hunger threaten millions of civilians.
