Hon. Ann Wamuratha Empowers Women and Youth in Ruiru Through NGAAF Program
Kiambu County Woman Representative Hon. Ann Wamuratha has continued her grassroots empowerment drive under the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), equipping women and youth groups in Ruiru with essential tools and equipment to boost their livelihoods and promote self-reliance.
Speaking during a community event in Gitothua Ward, Ruiru Constituency, Hon. Wamuratha reaffirmed her commitment to empowering local communities through practical support, training, and access to income-generating resources.
“Every tool we give represents opportunity, growth, and dignity. When we empower a woman or a young person, we empower an entire community,” said Hon. Wamuratha. “Together, we are building a stronger Kiambu — one ward at a time.”

Hon. Wamuratha—fondly known as “Mama County Kiambu”—emphasized that empowerment is not merely about donations but about restoring hope, fostering enterprise, and nurturing independence.
Residents and beneficiaries lauded her dedication, describing her as “a true mother of the county” whose hands-on approach continues to transform lives across Kiambu.
The event was part of Hon. Wamuratha’s ongoing #OneWardAtATime initiative, through which she has rolled out numerous NGAAF-supported projects targeting women, youth, and persons with disabilities in all 12 sub-counties of Kiambu.
“Only God can bless such a leader,” said one beneficiary, commending her humility and unwavering commitment to uplifting communities.
