Rorok Village in Lelan Ward is set to experience a new dawn of development and opportunity as the long-awaited electricity connectivity project officially kicks off.

Fulfilling an earlier promise to the people of Rorok, the process of connecting households and institutions to the national grid has begun, marking a significant milestone in the government’s effort to ensure equitable access to energy across all parts of Marakwet West.

This project is part of a broader commitment to transform rural areas by providing essential infrastructure that supports economic growth, education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship. With electricity now within reach, residents of Rorok will soon enjoy improved livelihoods, enhanced security, and better access to modern technology and services.

Speaking during the launch, Marakwet West MP Hon. Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring that every household in the constituency is connected to the national grid.

“As earlier promised, the process of electricity connectivity has kicked off in Rorok Village, Lelan Ward. This marks a significant step in ensuring that our people are connected to the national grid. I shall do everything possible to ensure that all residents of Marakwet West benefit from this transformative initiative. To God be the glory,” said Hon. Toroitich.

The electricity rollout in Rorok is expected to spur local economic activities, empower youth and women through small businesses, and enhance service delivery in schools and health facilities.
