Dr Moses Mwangi who is the Director KBA group of schools at Kahawa west has figured out 2025 year saying that the 2025 budget has prioritized education as a cornerstone of national development. The Ministry of Finance announced a 24% increase in education funding, aimed at:
Expanding Junior Secondary School infrastructure
Hiring 18,000 additional teachers
Rolling out digital learning devices nationwide
Increasing TVET and Higher Education bursaries
Supporting school feeding programs in arid and semi-arid regions
Dr Mwangi emphasized that the new allocations are designed to ensure equitable access, modernized learning environments, and improved quality across all institutions.
> “Education remains the strongest foundation for Kenya’s future. This enhanced budget demonstrates our commitment to empowering every learner,” said Dr Mwangi.
In recent weeks, various towns across the country have witnessed Gen-Z demonstrations calling for economic reforms, transparency, and youth representation.
Dr Mwangi affirmed the right to peaceful assembly and stated that dialogue forums should be held with youth groups to solve the issue.
> “We recognize the voice and energy of our young people. their concerns are valid, and we are committed to genuine engagement,” said Dr Mwangi.
Security agencies have been directed to continue exercising restraint and uphold human rights during all public gatherings.
Creation of New IEBC to Oversee Future Elections
As part of ongoing institutional reforms, the Cabinet confirmed the establishment of a newly reconstituted Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) under the 2024 Constitutional Amendment Framework.
The new IEBC will:
Oversee the upcoming 2026 by-elections and 2027 General Election
Implement advanced digital voter verification systems
Review constituency boundaries
Strengthen transparency and public trust in electoral processes.
A selection panel has already shortlisted candidates, and Parliament approved them and are now ready for the elections.
Mr Mwangi expressed deep sorrow following the passing on of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, describing him as “a patriot who dedicated his life to democracy, justice, and national unity.”
A national funeral committee was formed to coordinate memorial activities in consultation with the Odinga family and conducted a state burial.
> “Kenya has lost a statesman whose courage shaped our democratic journey,” Dr Mwangi said,We stand with the family and all Kenyans during this moment of grief.”
