DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua Condemns Alleged Police Raid on Party Candidate’s Home in Narok Town

Democratic Change Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has accused the government of orchestrating a violent raid on the home of the party’s Narok Town parliamentary candidate, Hon. Douglas Masikonde.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Tuesday, Gachagua alleged that “heavily armed police officers and state-sponsored militia” stormed Masikonde’s residence, where the candidate and his agents were reportedly undergoing training ahead of the upcoming vote.

According to Gachagua, the incident was part of a broader scheme to intimidate DCP agents and interfere with the electoral process. He claimed that plans to manipulate ballot papers were underway, saying the operation was designed to subvert “the sovereign will of the people” and impose the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate on the constituency.

Gachagua condemned the alleged attack as “an attempt to deny the people of Narok Town their constitutional right to elect a candidate of their choice.”

No independent verification of the incident was immediately available, and authorities had not yet issued a response at the time of publication.

Despite his allegations, Gachagua urged residents of Narok Town to remain calm and to turn out in large numbers on election day. “Do not be discouraged. Exercise your democratic right despite the hurdles being placed in your way,” he said.
