Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka today led the County Executive in signing performance contracts, marking a renewed commitment to accountability, efficiency, and improved service delivery.
In the ceremony held at the County headquarters, the County Executive Committee Members (CECs) signed performance contracts with their respective Chief Officers, who in turn signed with Directors, setting clear performance benchmarks for the 2025/2026 financial year.
Governor Lusaka emphasized that the exercise was not a mere formality but a crucial tool for enhancing results-based management within the county government.
“Performance contracting is about setting targets, tracking progress, and ensuring that every officer is accountable for their deliverables. It is the foundation of an effective and transparent administration,” Lusaka said.
He urged the county officers to treat the contracts as a solemn pledge to the people of Bungoma, reminding them that the citizens expect efficient service delivery and prudent use of public resources.
The Governor also warned that his administration will closely monitor the implementation of the signed contracts, noting that performance evaluations will directly influence promotions and career progression.
“We cannot continue doing things the same way and expect different results. Each department must demonstrate tangible outcomes that align with our County Integrated Development Plan,” he added.
The performance contracting framework, introduced across counties to promote efficiency and transparency, is expected to streamline operations and strengthen the culture of accountability within the Bungoma County Government.
