A Century of Wisdom: Natembeya Visits 100-Year-Old Mzee Kura in Hospital

 


Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya on Tuesday evening paid a visit to Mzee Kura, a centenarian admired across the county for his wisdom, strength, and community spirit. The over 100-year-old elder is currently receiving treatment at Kapsirwo Hospital.

Governor Natembeya, accompanied by a few county officials, spent time with Mzee Kura, checking on his recovery and sharing words of encouragement.

Speaking after the visit, the Governor described Mzee Kura as “a pillar of wisdom and resilience whose life continues to inspire generations.”

 “This evening, I visited my good friend, Mzee Kura, who is over 100 years old and currently hospitalized at Kapsirwo Hospital. Mzee’s strength, wisdom, and resilience remain an inspiration to all of us. I wish him a quick recovery and continued good health,” Governor Natembeya said.

The Governor also commended the hospital staff for their dedication in caring for the elderly and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services across Trans Nzoia County.

Mzee Kura, known for his community leadership and long-standing advocacy for peace and unity, has been a respected figure in the region for decades.

Residents of Trans Nzoia expressed appreciation for the Governor’s gesture, saying it reflected compassion and respect for elders — values deeply rooted in the county’s culture.
