Uasin Gishu County Steps Up Health Digitization Drive to Deliver Faster, Smarter Services

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has reaffirmed its strong commitment to delivering timely, high-quality, and comprehensive healthcare services as it intensifies efforts to digitize health systems across all facilities.

Speaking during a feedback meeting with high-volume health facilities that participated in a benchmarking mission on health digitization, County Secretary Philip Meli underscored the transformative power of technology in healthcare delivery.

> “Digitization is no longer optional. It is the key to timely care, accurate workload data, and better planning,” said Meli. “We are calling on our facilities to not only embrace digital health tools but also to explore implementing Taifa Care and the Social Health Authority to expand the range of services available to our people.”

Health Services County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Joseph Lagat echoed the call, urging facility managers to lead the charge in digital transformation.

> “To champion digitization, our managers must first understand it fully,” Lagat noted. “With proper knowledge and prudent management of health products, we will significantly reduce wastage and improve service planning.”

He added that integrating digital tools would not only streamline internal processes but also enhance patient experiences at county health facilities.

Preventive and Promotive Health Chief Officer Dr. Paul Wangwe highlighted that Uasin Gishu County has been a trailblazer in leveraging technology to improve public service delivery. He noted that this latest initiative underscores the county’s strategic focus on building a modern, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare system.

As the county continues to roll out digitization initiatives, residents can look forward to shorter wait times, improved record-keeping, and a broader spectrum of healthcare services—delivered with speed, accuracy, and care.

Also present were County Attorney Sylvester Metto, Administration Chief Officer Ambrose Tarus, and Director for Human Resource, Nathan Koech.
