Senator Cherargei Calls for Swift Repatriation of Felix Limo’s Body from Qatar
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has expressed deep sorrow following the untimely death of Felix Limo, a resident of Kosirai Ward, Nandi County, who passed away in Qatar several weeks ago.
In a statement released on Saturday, the senator extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and community, acknowledging the emotional toll caused by the prolonged delay in repatriating the body.
“My deepest condolences to the family of the late Felix Limo for his untimely demise in Qatar. The delay in the repatriation of his body has caused untold suffering to the family and the entire community for the past few days,” Senator Cherargei said.
The senator confirmed that he had reached out to top government officials to expedite the repatriation process.
“Yesterday evening, I engaged with Dr. Sing’oei Korir, the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs, to urgently intervene and ensure that Felix Limo’s body is brought back home for a dignified burial,” he added.
Senator Cherargei also thanked the family for their cooperation in providing the necessary documentation to facilitate the repatriation process.
“I thank the family for availing the necessary information to ensure a smooth process. I want to assure the family, friends, and the public that we shall work tirelessly until this matter is resolved expeditiously.”
The senator’s intervention follows mounting concern among locals over the delay, which has prolonged the family’s grief. The late Felix Limo is remembered as a humble and hardworking individual whose loss has deeply affected the Kosirai community.
