"Pray Without Ceasing": Rev. Maiyo Urges TENP Freshers

The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) has organized an impactful orientation for its September 2025 intake, welcoming over 2,000 new students across 11 departments. The event, held at the institution’s square grounds, marked the beginning of an important academic journey for the freshers.

Addressing the new students, Reverend Alphayo Maiyo emphasized the importance of spiritual grounding as they pursue their studies. He urged the first years to remain committed to God and to cultivate a life of prayer in all their endeavors.

> “Pray without ceasing. We have many places of worship around here, and we can always ask God to help us in our needs,” Reverend Maiyo reminded the students.

The Reverend commended TENP’s Chief Principal, Dr. Charles Koech, for ensuring that the institution provides a conducive environment where students of all faiths can worship freely. He encouraged freshers to make use of this supportive space to strengthen their spiritual lives alongside academics.

Reverend Maiyo highlighted that while education opens doors for opportunity, prayer remains a vital tool to guide students through challenges and shape their character. He reminded the intake that success at the polytechnic is not only defined by academic achievement but also by values, discipline, and faith.

With over 2,000 freshers admitted into 11 diverse departments, TENP continues to position itself as one of Kenya’s leading technical and vocational institutions. Reverend Maiyo’s message set the tone for a holistic experience—encouraging students to balance academic focus, talent development, and spirituality as they embark on their educational journey.
