Finnish Experts Train TENP Staff on Moodle and Virtual Reality Integration
The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) on Wednesday welcomed a team of education technology experts from Finland to strengthen digital learning and dual training initiatives.
The visiting team, comprising Heli Milly and Mira Torvinen Maatta from Kao and Brahe Colleges, will conduct specialized training for Heads of Departments (HoDs) at TENP. The sessions will focus on the application of Moodle and Virtual Reality (VR) tools in teaching, with the goal of enhancing ICT integration in technical and vocational education.
Speaking during the reception, TENP Chief Principal, Dr. Charles Koech, commended the collaboration under the Bridging VET between Kenya and Finland Program, noting that it will play a key role in modernizing the institution’s training approaches.
“This partnership is vital in preparing our students for a competitive job market by embracing innovative digital solutions in education,” said Dr. Koech.
The training is expected to build capacity among department heads who are rolling out dual training programs at TENP, thereby improving both classroom instruction and industry-based learning.
The Bridging VET Program continues to link Kenyan and Finnish institutions in advancing technical skills, digital learning, and knowledge exchange, with TENP positioned as one of the leading beneficiaries in the Rift Valley region.
