Buzeki Set to Declare Political Stand, Join UDA at Hustler Centre
Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich, popularly known as Buzeki, is expected to officially declare his political stand and join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on Friday at 10:00 AM.
The announcement is scheduled to take place at the UDA Party Headquarters (Hustler Centre) along Ngong Road, Nairobi, in a move that signals a major realignment in Rift Valley regional politics ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Buzeki, a prominent businessman and influential political figure in the North Rift region, is making a highly anticipated return to the national political arena. His past campaigns have drawn significant grassroots support, particularly during the 2017 and 2022 gubernatorial elections in Uasin Gishu County, where he ran as an independent candidate.
Sources within UDA confirm that top party officials are expected to welcome Buzeki during the event, which could mark the beginning of his active participation in UDA’s political agenda. The move is likely to reshape the political dynamics in Uasin Gishu and surrounding counties, as the party continues to consolidate its base under the leadership of President William Ruto.
While Buzeki has remained largely silent about his political ambitions in recent months, his expected entry into UDA comes at a time when the ruling party is actively reorganizing ahead of the 2027 elections, with increased efforts to attract influential leaders and unify the Rift Valley voting bloc.
Buzeki’s official statement is expected to outline his reasons for joining the party, his future political plans, and his vision for the region under the UDA umbrella.
The press conference will be open to media and invited guests, with political observers keen to see what role Buzeki will play within the party structure moving forward.
