Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Urges Support for President Ruto’s Agenda

Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Evans Kapkea has appealed to residents and leaders in the county to rally behind President William Ruto and fully support his development agenda. Speaking at a public event today, Kapkea emphasized the importance of unity and national support for the President, especially in recognizing the recent appointments of young leaders to key positions, including the Chief Secretary for Water and the Principal Secretary for Sports.
“We must stand with the President and his government. These appointments show his commitment to empowering the youth,” Kapkea stated.
He also commended Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii for maintaining peace and stability across the county. According to Kapkea, Dr. Bii has played a crucial role in uniting communities and preventing looting or destruction of businesses during times of tension. He credited this to close coordination with the County Commissioner and County Police Commander.
“Uasin Gishu is a county of peace. We thank our Governor for using all available means to protect lives and property. Our people deserve a stable and secure environment,” Kapkea added.
The Deputy Governor called on local leaders to avoid divisive politics, cautioning that anyone from Uasin Gishu advocating for a one-term presidency for Ruto is undermining the Head of State and acting against the interests of the region.
“We are praying for our President. Anyone from Uasin Gishu pushing the ‘one term’ narrative is not only an enemy of the President but also of the people,” he warned.
Kapkea’s remarks come amid growing political activity across the country, as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
