Relief in Sight as Gatanga–Ndakaini Road Rehabilitation Gains Momentum
Residents of Gatanga have welcomed the ongoing rehabilitation of the Gatanga–Ndakaini Road, a crucial transport link that has long suffered from neglect and deteriorating conditions.
Gatanga MP Wakili Edward Muriu on Friday led an inspection of the roadworks, engaging with local residents and traders who shared their frustrations over the deep potholes and challenges that have plagued the busy route.
“Today, I spent meaningful time with my bosses mashinani as we inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of the Gatanga–Ndakaini Road,” said MP Muriu. “I assured them that restoring this vital road is a top priority—and that work is already well underway.”
The road, which connects Gatanga town to the scenic Ndakaini area, is vital for both local commerce and access to the Ndakaini Dam. Its poor condition has hampered mobility, raised transport costs, and strained small businesses.
Muriu emphasized that the rehabilitation will bring lasting benefits to the community, including improved travel conditions, enhanced road safety, and economic growth through smoother movement of goods and services.
“Soon, mobility will improve, travel will be smoother, and businesses will move with ease,” he said. “Our shared journey continues, fixing what matters most.”
The road project is part of the MP’s broader development agenda aimed at upgrading critical infrastructure and improving the quality of life for Gatanga residents.
