Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Begins Diaspora Engagement Tour in the U.S.
Speaking shortly after his arrival, Gachagua expressed gratitude for the heartfelt reception and emphasized the importance of engaging with Kenyans living abroad.
“Accompanied by my beloved spouse, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, I arrived at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington to kick off my diaspora engagement with Kenyans in the USA and the international community on issues affecting our beloved country,” Gachagua said.
The former deputy president noted that the love and support from the diaspora community were deeply moving, describing the atmosphere as “jubilant” and “unmatched.”
“I am truly excited by the warmth and patriotism shown here. It is a testament to the deep bond that Kenyans abroad still hold with their motherland,” he added.
Gachagua’s visit is expected to include town hall meetings, church services, and consultations with Kenyan professionals and students in the United States. He is also slated to meet with local leaders and international partners to discuss development, governance, and the role of the diaspora in shaping Kenya’s future.
Pastor Dorcas Rigathi is expected to lead several community outreach initiatives, particularly focused on youth empowerment, spiritual growth, and family values.
The former deputy president concluded his brief address by invoking a message of unity and faith:
“The journey we begin today is one of hope, dialogue, and nation-building. God bless Kenya and the Kenyan people everywhere.”
