Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen today led the 19th edition of Jukwaa la Usalama grassroots security and public service engagement in Kapsabet, Nandi County, accompanied by senior government officials.

The visit began with a high-level meeting with the county security team, where key issues including inter-agency coordination, community policing, and emerging local security concerns were discussed.

CS Murkomen, together with Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service Gilbert Masengeli and Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Dr. Abdi Hassan, later toured the Huduma Centre in Kapsabet to inspect government service delivery. Special focus was given to the ongoing mobile ID registration initiative, which aims to ensure accessible documentation services, especially for youth and remote communities.

The team then proceeded to the Eliud Kipchoge Sports Complex, where they engaged members of the public, National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs), local leaders, and security personnel in a public forum. Residents raised concerns ranging from delayed documentation to localized security issues, with the CS assuring them of swift government response.

Jukwaa la Usalama is about listening to citizens, building trust, and ensuring that government services are people-centered,” said Murkomen. “We are committed to working with all stakeholders to improve safety and service delivery at the grassroots level.”

The Jukwaa la Usalama initiative continues to be a critical platform for the Ministry of Interior to enhance public participation, promote accountability, and strengthen national cohesion through regular direct engagement with communities across the country.
