Governor Natembeya Unveils New Trans Nzoia County Headquarters, Promises Efficient Service Delivery

 

Residents of Trans Nzoia County will now enjoy faster and more efficient access to government services following the official opening of a new county headquarters in Kitale.

Governor George Natembeya on Wednesday presided over a special prayer service to bless the newly completed building, which will now house all county departments under one roof. The event marked a significant milestone for the devolved unit, with the governor calling the development a game-changer in public service delivery.

“This new building brings all county departments together, which will make service delivery more effective and efficient,” Governor Natembeya said. “Since devolution began almost 13 years ago, this is the first government building in the county to be completed on time.”

Governor Natembeya took over his new office on the second floor of the modern complex immediately after the prayer service. Other county officials, including those previously operating from the Town Hall, are expected to begin relocating to the new facility starting Thursday.

The governor emphasized that a conducive working environment is essential for public servants to offer quality services to citizens. “Our staff deserve a dignified workplace. A well-equipped office not only boosts morale but directly translates into better services for our people,” he added.

The new headquarters is designed to centralize county operations, reducing bureaucracy and eliminating the inconvenience of residents having to move from one office to another across the town.

The facility is expected to improve coordination between departments and enhance transparency and accountability within the county government.

Residents and local leaders have lauded the development as a long-overdue step toward modern governance, with hopes that the centralized services will bring greater convenience and improved turnaround times for county-related services.
