In a historic milestone for United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa), the institution has officially installed Ambassador Dennis Awori as Chancellor and Professor Mwenda Ntarangwi as Vice Chancellor in a joint ceremony marking a new chapter in its leadership.

Held at the university's main campus in Nairobi, the landmark event was the first time in USIU-Africa’s history that both top leadership positions were inaugurated simultaneously, symbolizing a unified vision for the university's future.

Ambassador Dennis Awori, who succeeds the esteemed Dr. Manu Chandaria, will serve a five-year term as Chancellor. In his acceptance speech, Awori praised the university’s diverse and dynamic role in the region, calling USIU-Africa "a beacon of hope and a cradle of possibility, where minds are enriched, futures are shaped, and leadership is cultivated."

He paid tribute to his predecessor, Dr. Chandaria, acknowledging his lasting impact on the institution—including the founding of the Chandaria School of Business. “His legacy has been instrumental in positioning USIU-Africa as a center of excellence,” Awori stated.

Welcoming Professor Ntarangwi to his new role, Awori expressed confidence in the new Vice Chancellor’s ability to steer the university into a transformative era. “His vision and leadership will undoubtedly elevate USIU-Africa to greater success. Together, we are committed to advancing a shared mission rooted in excellence, innovation, and integrity.”

Professor Mwenda Ntarangwi, an academic leader and seasoned administrator, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to its core values of integrity, innovation, and inclusivity. Emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning, he highlighted the need for adaptability in an ever-evolving global landscape.

“Lifelong learning prepares our students to remain adaptable, open to new ideas, technologies, and methodologies—essential in today’s fast-changing world,” Prof. Ntarangwi remarked.
