Jubilation filled the halls of Eldoret National Polytechnic today as the institution’s talented dancers and models presented their trophies to Chief Principal Dr. Charles Koech following their victory at the Uasin Gishu County Inter-Colleges Competition.
The event, which was held at the Central Primary School Grounds over the weekend, brought together various institutions from across the county to compete in multiple categories including dance, modeling, music, and cultural performance.
Eldoret Poly emerged as a standout in the competition, clinching top positions in both the dance and modelling categories. The school's energetic dance crew wowed judges with their coordinated routines, creativity, and stage presence, while Mr. and Miss Poly impressed with their poise, confidence, and strong message of youth empowerment.
Speaking during the brief trophy presentation ceremony held at the institution on Monday, Chief Principal Dr. Charles Koech commended the team for their discipline, commitment, and outstanding representation of the polytechnic.
“You have made us proud,” Dr. Koech said. “This victory not only highlights the talent within Eldoret Poly but also reinforces our dedication to nurturing well-rounded students—academically, artistically, and socially.”
The Chief Principal also urged other students to take part in extracurricular activities as a way of developing soft skills and building confidence for life beyond campus.
Team captain of the dance crew, Mary Chebet, attributed their win to hard work, teamwork, and unwavering support from their trainers and fellow students. “We spent weeks rehearsing, and we’re happy our efforts paid off,” she said.
Mr. Poly, Brian Kipkurui, also thanked the institution and the organizers, noting that the competition was not just about beauty or performance, but about inspiring the youth to believe in themselves.
Organized by the Uasin Gishu County Government, the Inter-Colleges Competition aimed to promote talent development, cultural exchange, and youth engagement across the region’s learning institutions. Participants were judged based on creativity, originality, and overall presentation.
