Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Kipchumba Murkomen has lauded the ongoing 3rd National Executive Retreat as a timely and necessary platform for introspection, collaboration, and recommitment to the shared vision of transforming Kenya.
Speaking on Day 2 of the high-level retreat at the KCB Leadership Centre in Karen, CS Murkomen highlighted the significance of the gathering, which is being led by H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, as an opportunity for government leaders to pause, reflect, and recalibrate their mandate to better serve the Kenyan people.
“This retreat is not merely a routine meeting—it is a critical moment of reflection and renewal. As public servants, we must constantly realign our actions with the aspirations of the people we serve. Under the leadership of President Ruto, we are re-energizing our commitment to efficient, accountable, and transformative governance,” said Murkomen.
The retreat, which brings together Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and senior government officials, also featured the presence of former Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, whose contribution was acknowledged as both significant and unifying.
“We were honored to have Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga join us. His insights on national development, social cohesion, and political maturity offered valuable perspective on the importance of unity in the journey of building a prosperous Kenya,” Murkomen noted.
The Interior CS emphasized the need for coordinated action across all levels of government to tackle national priorities such as security, service delivery, and economic inclusion. He reiterated the government's resolve to work together in a non-partisan manner to uphold the rule of law and deliver on the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
“The Kenyan people expect results. This retreat reminds us that unity of purpose, not uniformity of opinion, is what will deliver change. It is a call to renew our pledge to the nation, grounded in humility, duty, and results,” he added.
