Nairobi is making revolutionary history this week as it hosts the 4th International Theoretical Conference (Theocon), a landmark convergence of global anti-imperialist forces and radical thinkers, coorganized by the Communist Party Marxist Kenya (CPMK) and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) with the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) at its core.
Running from May 23 to 24, 2025, the conference has brought together 110 delegates 57 international representatives and 53 Kenyan participants including workers, peasants, youth, and progressive intellectuals. This marks the first time such a significant revolutionary gathering is being held on African soil.
Under the theme “Bureaucratic and Comprador Capitalist in the Neocolonies,” the delegates are undertaking rigorous MarxistLeninist analysis and forging common strategies to intensify the struggle against global imperialism, neocolonialism, and capitalist exploitation.
“This Conference is not academic it is revolutionary. It is not symbolic it is strategic,” emphasized Booker Omole, the General Secretary of CPMK. “We are charting a clear and militant path toward international socialist transformation.”
Discussions at the forum focus on class contradictions, the socioeconomic value of organized resistance, and the advancement of proletarian internationalism. The conference is expected to produce resolutions that translate into coordinated grassrootsdriven action across continents.
That Nairobi, a key hub for finance capital in Eastern Africa, is hosting such a convergence is a powerful statement in itself. It reflects a shift in revolutionary momentum toward the Global South, particularly Africa.
Convened just ahead of African Liberation Day 2025, the conference deepens the ideological and practical unity of global struggles for emancipation and sovereignty.
The Communist Party Marxist Kenya has reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to the liberation of all oppressed peoples and the construction of a socialist future.
