Veteran mathematician and senior principal Tom Amadi has officially taken over Magunga Secondary School in Kisumu County, where he has pledged to make every student develop a love for mathematics and raise the school's academic profile.
Amadi, who previously served at Nambale Boys High School in Busia County, is renowned for his exemplary leadership and teaching record. At Nambale, 34 students scored A plains in mathematics in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), highlighting his commitment to academic excellence.
He has also delivered motivational talks on mathematics at various institutions across the country, aiming to inspire both students and educators. “Every student should love maths,” Amadi said during his welcome speech. “With the right mindset and support, students can overcome fear and begin to enjoy and excel in the subject.”
In addition, Amadi promised to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to uplift the school. “I will work with everybody from teachers, students, parents, and the community to steer Magunga Secondary School to national level, both academically and in co-curricular activities,” he said.
Kisumu County Director of Education, Rosemary Birenge, praised Amadi’s appointment, calling him a hardworking and visionary leader. “We are confident that Magunga is set to soar high academically under his leadership,” she stated.
Excitement is high at Magunga as the school prepares for a new era of growth and achievement under Amadi’s leadership.Ends
