Five Arrested in Connection with Vandalism of EACC Vehicles at Natembeya Residence
Police in Trans-Nzoia County have arrested five suspects linked to the vandalism of five vehicles belonging to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) during a raid at the residence of Governor George Natembeya.
The incident occurred on May 19, 2025, when EACC officers were executing a lawful search warrant at the governor’s residence. The vehicles were reportedly attacked and damaged by unknown individuals during the operation, prompting immediate concern from law enforcement agencies.
In response, a targeted police operation was launched across Kitale town to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Authorities confirmed that five individuals were arrested on May 24, 2025, in connection with the offence. They are expected to face charges including malicious damage to property and other related crimes.
“The suspects are currently in custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations,” said a senior police official involved in the case. “We are committed to ensuring that all those involved are brought to book.”
Police emphasized that the operation remains active, with efforts underway to trace additional suspects who may have played a role in the attack.
