Eldoret National Polytechnic Hosts Rugby Level 1 Coaching Clinic

The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) recently hosted a Rugby Level 1 Coaching Clinic aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of rugby coaches in Uasin Gishu County.  Held on May 17, 2025, the clinic was facilitated by Kenya Rugby Educator Mr. Lamech Ongati and Rugby Development Officer for the Rift Valley, Mr. Humphrey Kisala.

The clinic was officially opened by the Deputy Principal Administration, Mr. Seurey, who welcomed the facilitators and participants to the institution.  Also present was the Dean of Students, who expressed the institution's commitment to nurturing well-rounded trainees through sports and character development.

The clinic provided an opportunity for local coaches to gain valuable insights into effective coaching techniques, player development, and the strategic aspects of rugby.  Mr. Kisala emphasized the importance of integrating both theoretical and practical knowledge in coaching to produce well-rounded athletes.  He highlighted the evolving nature of rugby and the need for coaches to stay updated with the latest developments in the sport.

The event was part of TENP's broader initiative to promote sports education and development within the region.  The institution has a history of supporting sports activities, as evidenced by the recent victory of the TENP rugby team, P61, in the Rift Valley Region Nationwide League  .

Through such initiatives, Eldoret National Polytechnic continues to play a pivotal role in fostering sportsmanship and excellence among its students and the wider community.
