National Land Commission (NLC) Chief Executive Officer, CHRP Kabale Tache Arero, has commended the significant progress on the Isiolo–Modogashe section of the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project, describing it as a landmark initiative poised to transform the economic landscape of Northern Kenya. Under her leadership, the NLC has been instrumental in facilitating land acquisition and ensuring community engagement for the smooth implementation of the project.

Speaking on the progress, CEO Kabale expressed optimism that the project will reach 90% completion by this time next year, hailing it as a turning point for the region’s development.

“This project represents an economic breakthrough for the counties in Northern Kenya. The completion of this road will not only enhance connectivity but also stimulate economic growth in the entire region,” she said.

The National Land Commission, mandated to oversee public land management, has played a critical role in ensuring timely compensation and resolving land-related issues that often stall infrastructure projects. Its proactive approach has helped keep the Isiolo–Modogashe project on track.

The road is a key component of the broader Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project, which aims to boost transport efficiency and regional trade across Kenya and neighboring countries. Upon completion, it will improve access to markets, lower transport costs, and attract investment into underdeveloped regions.

Kabale extended heartfelt appreciation to all implementing agencies and stakeholders for their dedication and professionalism. She also recognized the commitment of President William Ruto in prioritizing the project under his administration.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency President William Ruto for prioritizing this mega project, which is pivotal for the development and prosperity of our community,” she noted.

As the NLC continues to align its efforts with Kenya’s development goals, its involvement in the Isiolo–Modogashe project stands as a testament to its commitment to equitable growth and national transformation.

“Together, we are paving the way for a brighter economic future for Northern Kenya,” Kabale concluded.
