Rahab Mukami Champions Women’s Leadership Ahead of 2027 Elections

Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami has called for stronger collaboration among women leaders to break barriers, promote equal representation and strengthen women’s participation in leadership ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Mukami made the call during a gathering of women leaders where discussions focused on advancing women’s leadership, addressing challenges facing women in politics and building stronger networks to support their leadership ambitions.

The legislator emphasised the importance of women supporting one another and amplifying each other’s voices as part of efforts to create more opportunities for women to take up leadership positions at all levels.

She noted that unity among women leaders remains critical in challenging existing barriers and creating a more inclusive political and leadership environment for future generations.

Mukami said empowering women to participate meaningfully in leadership would help lay a stronger foundation for equal representation in decision-making spaces.

Her message comes as political leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election, with women’s representation and inclusion expected to remain key issues in national and county political debates.

Through her **#MukamiMaendeleoMashinani** initiative, the Nyeri Woman Representative continues to emphasise grassroots development and community engagement, alongside calls for greater recognition of women’s leadership.

The discussions underscored the need for women leaders to work together, mentor emerging leaders and create pathways for more women to participate in elective and appointed leadership positions.

Mukami reaffirmed the importance of collective action in building a future where women have equal opportunities to lead and influence decisions affecting their communities and the country.
