Mumina Joins Isiolo Residents in Fundraising Drive for Church, Women’s Empowerment
Isiolo Woman Representative Hon. Mumina Bonaya on Saturday joined residents and local leaders at the Full Gospel Church grounds in Leparua for a fundraising event aimed at supporting church construction, women’s empowerment initiatives and medical bill assistance for families in need.
The fundraiser brought together community members and leaders in a show of solidarity, with contributions directed towards initiatives intended to strengthen community welfare and support vulnerable households.
Mumina expressed appreciation for the generosity and unity demonstrated by residents, noting that collective action remains essential in addressing community needs and improving the welfare of families.
She emphasised the importance of supporting initiatives that empower women, assist families facing medical challenges and strengthen community institutions.
The event was attended by Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo, former Governor Godana Doyo, Oldonyiro Ward MCA David Lemantile, County Secretary Dade Boru and Isiolo County Public Service Board Chairperson Joseph Komu, among other leaders.
Mumina said leaders should continue working alongside communities to promote initiatives that offer practical support to residents, particularly women and families experiencing financial difficulties.
She noted that partnerships between leaders, churches and local communities can help mobilise resources for social development and provide assistance to those who need it most.
The fundraising initiative highlighted the role of community solidarity in addressing social challenges, with residents joining hands to support religious infrastructure, women's empowerment and medical assistance.
