Passaris Honours Raila Odinga One Year After His Death

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has paid tribute to the late former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga, describing him as a hero, Pan-Africanist and distinguished statesman whose legacy will continue to shape Kenya’s history.

Marking the first anniversary of Raila’s death, Passaris said the former opposition leader’s unwavering service to the country and his enduring contribution to democracy and leadership would remain etched in the hearts of Kenyans.

“Today, we remember the Enigma, the Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga, a hero, a Pan-Africanist and a distinguished statesman,” Passaris said in her tribute.

She honoured Raila for his lifelong commitment to public service, noting that his influence extended beyond Kenya to the wider African continent.

Passaris said the former Prime Minister’s legacy would continue to inspire generations, even as the country reflects on his contribution to its political and democratic journey.

“Continue resting in peace, BABA!” she said, reaffirming the enduring place Raila holds in the hearts of his supporters and admirers.

Raila, fondly known as BABA, remains one of Kenya’s most influential political figures, remembered for his decades-long involvement in the country’s struggle for multiparty democracy and his significant role in shaping the nation’s political landscape.

As Kenyans mark the first anniversary of his passing, tributes continue to celebrate his service, resilience and lasting influence on the country’s public life.
