Norbert Kipkemboi Ngetich has joined leaders from across the country in welcoming President William Ruto to Uasin Gishu County for the inspection and launch of government development projects ahead of the upcoming Mashujaa Day celebrations.

Ngetich said the leaders had gathered to welcome the Head of State as he undertakes development activities in the county, which is preparing to host the national Mashujaa Day celebrations at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret on October 20.

In his message, Ngetich invited Kenyans to turn up in large numbers and participate in the national celebrations, which will bring together national leaders, government officials and citizens from different parts of the country.

“Together with other leaders from across the country, we welcomed H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto to Uasin Gishu County for the inspection and launching of government projects and preparations for the Mashujaa Day celebrations, which will be held at Kipchoge Keino Stadium,” Ngetich said.

He extended an invitation to Kenyans to attend the celebrations on October 20, describing the occasion as an opportunity for the country to come together in honour of its heroes and heroines.

The preparations come as Eldoret takes centre stage in the national calendar, with the government expected to use the occasion to showcase development initiatives and recognise the contributions of individuals who have played a significant role in Kenya's history and progress.

Ngetich also expressed support for President Ruto's leadership, using the slogans “Rais ni WSR,” “Rais ni tutam” and “Kijana na Kazi” to rally support around the President and the youth employment agenda.

Uasin Gishu County, particularly Eldoret City, is expected to receive visitors from across the country as preparations for the national event continue.

The Mashujaa Day celebrations will provide an opportunity for Kenyans to honour the country's freedom fighters, community heroes and other citizens whose contributions have helped shape the nation's development.

Ngetich's message adds to the growing calls by local leaders and supporters urging residents and visitors to attend the celebrations at Kipchoge Keino Stadium on October 20.
